The gender pay gap reduces women’s lifetime earnings and also affects their pensions – this is one of the significant causes of poverty in later life for women.
By law, men and women must get equal pay for doing ‘equal work’ (work that equal pay law classes as the same, similar, equivalent or of equal value).
HOW DO WE GET INVOLVED:
1. We provide legal representation to women with genuine cases of gender-based salary discrimination.
2. We lobby parliamentarians to discuss the gender pay gap at legislative level and employers to implement corrective measures.
3. We also conduct national workshops to educate both employers and employees on this very critical issue.
